Whiteboard clips for GCSE Poetry

The Ruined Maid by Thomas Hardy

Power of Poetry for GCSE/A level Will TX on 17.3.2010 on BBC2 and will then be available online as whiteboard clips at bbc.co.uk

These are short HD videos of classic poems from the GCSE anthology, with strong messages for teenagers today. We give them a modern setting, leaving the text unchanged. Some poems have two contrasting versions.

The poems will then be permanently available on the BBC’s Class Clips website. You can search for poems by title or author.

The new poems are:
To His Coy Mistress, Andrew Marvell (2 versions)
The Laboratory, Robert Browning
Ulysses, Alfred, Lord Tennyson (2 versions)
Go Lovely Rose, Edmund Waller
The Affliction of Margaret, William Wordsworth
Chidiock Tichbourne’s Elegy
The Ruined Maid, Thomas Hardy
