Along with my co-producer Uzma Mir-Young I make audio and video content for broadcast and broadband. Originally a head of Technical and Vocational education in a secondary school, I also taught English, Drama and Media Studies. I bought my first Sinclair Spectrum in 1982 and have been addicted to gadgets ever since. I spent 17 years at the BBC making and commissioning educational TV, Radio and Online for children and teenagers. I’m also interested in counselling – currently at Level 3, and personal and skills development for all ages. I think lifelong learning should be taken more seriously.
I like education, which I think is one of the keys to happiness for all. I enjoy using technology to foster creativity and a more empowered society at all levels. I also like family life, walking and thinking.
I became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2008.
We’re currently in production making poetry for teenagers on BBC2’s Learning Zone and innovative video for BBC Scotland pre-schoolers.
